I frequent that part of town often and it was only a matter of time before I visit. I was invited to a dinner date one chilly evening ‘a surprise location I was told. With each turn, I wondered where the end game was. I was excited as the car drove into the compound of the Villandro Residence & Apartments; I had a broad smile plastered upon arrival. It felt like a pre-birthday gift, one I was going to enjoy.
With such a serene atmosphere, one would where they were, in a garden or not. Trees in the compound give a good feeling as you walk in. We were ushered in by a male waiter and led to our seats. The Villandro Residence & Apartments offers dinners with 2 seating options, that is outdoor or indoor. We chose the former to allow us to enjoy dinner under the skies. Literally.
For a 3-course meal, I sure was ready to explore meals. We began with a glass of cocktail and Grilled Shrimp with Avocado. The presentation got me pumped and as I took a bite, I felt the crunchiness of the Shrimp with the Avocado melt in my mouth. For someone new to fancy food, my palate picked up a lot of flavors. We enjoyed each bite and were ready for our next meal at Villandro Residence & Apartments – A Luxurious Getaway in The Capital.
Our main meal was slow-cooked Beef Ribs in Red Wine Sauce and Kelewele (diced fried ripped plantain mixed with pepper or any species) with Jollof Rice. The aroma and sizes of the beef were all that mattered to me. the beef was tender, easy to chew, juicy and full of flavor. The only issue was having to take the Kelewele out of the Jollof. I am not a fan of it.

The last meal was a Red Velvet Cheese Cake for dessert. My sweet tooth was rediscovered as I dug into the cake. It felt smooth and sweet. I enjoyed every meal I had. The ambience added to my experience , music and the chef checking in to ask how the meal was added to me having an almost perfect dinner date. Service was quick and smooth.
You can walk in on Sundays for brunch, or book to have a private lunch or a room. Their washroom is neat, the servers are polite. I had a good time as everything felt right.
