Anyone familiar with East Legon is bound to ask – are there restaurants around I can afford? Well, that depends on the size of your pocket. So we were able to tap into the networks of friends around for their recommendations: from the great food to the authentic vibes of the place.
Chez Afrique

Located in a serene environment at East Legon with its authentic Ghanaian atmosphere. With many visitors passing through, it has grown into a communal place for people who enjoy outdoor dining and live band music to come and socialize. What I enjoy most is their kebab, the guy is friendly and his meat is juicy and very spicy just the way I like it. But most importantly, you have a menu with various Ghanaian dishes to choose from at an affordable price.

DNR Turkish Restaurant

This restaurant is located on Lagos Avenue, opposite the Universal Merchant Bank and Ernest Chemist, and adjacent to the Stanbic Bank. With its beautiful interior décor and facilities such as DSTV, free Wi-Fi and a playground for the kids, you can enjoy all the Halal meat, grilled chicken, beef, pizza and more. With the option of dining indoors or at their patio seating, the experience becomes more enjoyable. You should try ordering for a birthday to have a taste of almost if not all of their food. We got a delivery from them and it was savory. Only problem was that I did not know the names of the pastries but enjoyed them regardless.

La Cocina Mexicana

Halo! Gradually cementing its reputation as a place to be for lovers of alternative cuisine, La Cocina has become a premier Mexican food hub. With its menu filled with a range of traditional and eclectic Mexican cuisine: tacos, chilaquiles, tortillas, mole, enchiladas, tostadas, tamales and so much more, it’s a place to check out. We visited there last year on a sunny Sunday for their Sunday brunch package. it was such a warm place filled with beautiful colored seating areas. The taste was very foreign to my palate and as such I struggled to adjust to the taste and feel . However, I did enjoy their cocktails and the taco crust. Would have to visit soon for a much better experience and have my feel of the Mexican of the famous spice.
